GRP Applications on Waste Water Treatment Plants
Numerous opportunities exist for GRP products in WTP/WWTP facilities. Covers for screw pumps, sumps, mixer platforms, filter and trickling tank platforms, complex GRP structural systems and walkways for long bridges like clarifiers and aeration basins, walkways over equipment, pipe bridges and crossover platforms are just a few of the many GRP applications in WWTP.

Screw Pump Covers
GRP products provide different possibilities for covers over screw pumps. Profile gratings or moulded gratings, with micromesh if necessary or enclosed with a laminated surface. Another possibility is the prefabricated closed GRP element, making this need for constructions in most situations unnecessary. Closed covers aren’t just safe; they also reduce noise and enclose the odours emitted by the sewage.

  • Material Selection & Supply
    The GRP specialists of Spaans Babcock bv are very capable at selecting the best option in GRP solutions. According to a fixed procedure we select the right type of grp material.
    In this selection we check for example the necessary chemical resistance, temperature range and point and surface load.
  • Advisory
    Although GRP material today is recognised and accepted as a high quality standard solution which has proven it self already for many decades, some engineers still need additional advise for the application of grp materials. Information about the chemical resistance, temperature range and engineering figures like the tensile or bending strengh are often unknown by engineers who are trained. Spaans Babcock bv is capable of supplying this information.
  • Engineering & Drawing services
    Within Spaans Babcock bv we can offer a complete package of services which also contains the engineering of grp constructions. In case of new installations or bigger renovation projects we are also able to supply design or as built drawings.
  • Machining & Pre assembly
    Grp materials can easily be fabricated with hand tools, even on site. However some customers prefer to receive their grp materials like gratings and profiles premachined to the right sizes to reduce the installation time. Hand railing systems can also be pre-assembled in lengths of maximum 6 metres. Spaans Babcock bv offers a fool proof service of pre machined and assembled grp products.
  • Turn key
    Today many of our clients prefer to work with suppliers who offer turn key projects. Spaans Babcock bv can offer this.
