Good bye to > 30 years water treatment

My start in the water world was at Nijhuis -Water as CEO and shareholder . Brought this company from a bankruptcy to a very successful company with excellent results , and sold this company very successful in 2008  .

After 15 years as CEO and 32 years as a shareholder of the Spaans Babcock Group, the time has come to go out of the driver’s seat. It has been a tremendous honour to serve this outstanding company and I look back with deep gratitude and pride.

During these years Spaans Babcock has grown into a stronger, more resilient and more innovative organisation. We tripled our operating results together with Spaans foreign operations.

We did serious investments in R&D always with a long-term view. We enhanced our operations, refined our leadership approach and strengthened our brand. This together with our branches and our international representative network.

The past decade brought many global challenges – from pandemics to geo-political unrest. Still, we weathered the storms and came out stronger. What I value most, however, is our people; their dedication, creativity and values.

Thank you for your trust. Now is the time right for a transition, the company is performing extremely well, the order portfolio is filled and the main shareholder is a solid reliable Dutch Privat equity company.

I will stay as a shareholder and member of the advisory board of Spaans Babcock.

I will hand over my responsibility to my successor @PeterMeijer. I am confident that under his leadership Spaans Babcock group will continue to thrive and stay true to its values.

I wish Spaans Babcock continued success, resilience and sustainable growth.
